From Components to Finished PCBA: Inside Our SMT Assembly Process

Component Sourcing and Material Control

Components are purchased according to the approved BOM. Before purchasing, we confirm the part number, manufacturer, package type and any acceptable alternatives with the customer.

Incoming materials are checked and managed by batch before being released to production. Sensitive components are stored and handled according to their specific requirements.

Automated SMT Assembly

The SMT assembly process begins with automatic board loading and solder paste printing. Components are then placed onto the PCB using automated pick-and-place equipment.

Reflow Soldering

After component placement, the boards pass through the reflow soldering process. The temperature profile is adjusted according to the solder paste, PCB material and component requirements.

AOI Inspection

After reflow soldering, AOI is used to inspect the assembled boards. It can help identify missing components, incorrect polarity, placement deviation and visible soldering defects.

Automated optical inspection after SMT assembly.

For BGA, QFN and other packages with hidden solder joints, X-ray inspection can also be arranged according to the project requirements.

DIP and Through-Hole Assembly

For boards containing through-hole components, we support manual insertion, wave soldering and post-soldering inspection.

Final Inspection and Testing

Depending on the product requirements, assembled boards can undergo electrical testing, programming and functional testing before shipment.

Testing requirements should be confirmed before production so that the necessary fixtures, programs and procedures can be prepared in advance.
